Pyotr Volkov, born in Uruguay as Diego Daniel García, is an anthropologist and historian with a particular interest in the history of the Slavic peoples and of Orthodox Christianity. The Final Kingdom is the fruit of a decade of work: a novel in which Orthodox Christianity is the thread that binds the fate of nations.
